The 88th Air Base Wing Environmental Branch, aligned under the Civil Engineer Directorate, manages installation environmental compliance, conservation, pollution prevention, recycling, cultural resources protection and restoration programs for Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. The environmental team establishes systems and procedures to comply with applicable laws and regulations, minimize environmental risks, and ensure a commitment to environmental stewardship while executing base missions.
tabRecycling Mascot - CHUCK-IT 
The Air Force has a new moscot to help its recycling awarness campaign and fight against solid waste.

CHUCK-IT, the recycling mascot, targets children between the ages of 5 and 12 and is the lastes addition to the "Win the War Against Waste" tool kit - an outreach campaign developed to support the Air Force's worldwide environmental objectives for solid waste management.

The Mission Starts HEREYour Mission Starts Here to "Win the War Against  Waste," a continuing Air Force environmental initiative aimed at reducing solid waste. The "Win the War Against Waste" campaign encourages each of us to do our best to recycle and divert waste from landfills, which facilitates the Air Force's sustainability mission. The theme for this campaign is "The Mission Starts Here!"  Click on the graphic to see a YouTube video!  
tabWPAFB Recycling Center Hours 
WPAFB RecyclingWright-Patterson Recycling Center accepts deliveries for the recycling yard for bulk metals and metal appliances weekdays from 6:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Curbside drop-off for routine recyclables including cans, cardboard, paper, plastic bottles and oil can be done anytime behind the Recycling Center.   Click here for a Easy Guide to recycling at WPAFB. 
 
The Recycling Center is located in building 293 in area A underneath the water tower on Newark Street and Kuglics Boulevard.  For more information call 257-5060.

tabCommunity Interaction 
The Wright-Patterson Air Force Base Environmental Advisory Board meets quarterly to promote community awareness and obtain constructive community review and comment on current and proposed environmental actions across the installation. The "EAB" facilitates communication between base leadership, base environmental personnel and interested citizens of Greene County and surrounding communities.
