Novel Biomonitoring Methods

USACEHR, in collaboration with the United States Army Corps of Engineers (COE) has developed, evaluated, and applied several novel biomonitoring test systems (non-mammalian bioassays) to complex on-site environmental problems not covered by traditional toxicity test methods. Several of the USACEHR biomonitoring methods are described here, with case studies to illustrate how the methods may be applied to various contaminated media. Several examples are given for Superfund sites at the United States Army Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG).
