Pentagon’s IT Provider Receives New Leader

Washington, DC -- A new Executive Director has been appointed for the U.S. Army Information Technology Agency (ITA). Mr. Donald E. Adcock, previously Program Manager for the Solutions Information Technology Enterprise (SITE) acquisition vehicle for the Defense Intelligence Agency, took charge of ITA on March 1, 2010.  With ITA, Mr. Adcock is leading a customer-focused team which provides cost-effective, reliable, and secure Information Technology (IT) services in support of the Pentagon community. Mr. Adcock said he looks forward to continuing the work of ITA’s major enterprise-wide transformation, currently underway. “I am impressed with the direction ITA has charted with its transformation. A solid foundation has been laid with a focus on the Enterprise and taking care of the business of delivering IT services,” said Mr. Adcock. Throughout the transformation, ITA has continued to set the pace for technology service and innovation for the national defense community. ITA’s customers rely on a comprehensive suite of information technology services to maximize efficiency, reliability, and resources. ITA’s streamlined approach provides the individual attention and service excellence customers have come to expect. “From what I’ve learned so far, I believe that ITA is exactly where we need to be, and I am committed to working … to make the organization even stronger,” said Mr. Adcock.

Pentagon’s IT Leader Receives Presidential Award

Larry Stubblefield

Washington, DC -- U.S. Army Information Technology Agency (ITA) Executive Director Larry Stubblefield has been named a 2009 Presidential Rank Award Distinguished Executive -- the highest award attainable by career civilian executives in the Federal Government. The announcement was made by The Secretary of the Army on November 18, 2009. ITA delivers multiple technology services and solutions to government customers at the Pentagon and the National Capital Region. Mr. Stubblefield leads a customer-focused team who provide cost-effective, reliable, and secure IT services in support of the mission success of the Pentagon community. Most recently, Mr. Stubblefield is credited with leading a major enterprise-wide transformation initiative within ITA, introducing innovative approaches to Information Technology (IT) best business and management practices. Mr. Stubblefield expressed thanks for the support he has received within ITA. “Like the quarterback who throws for a record number of touchdowns during the season and attributes his success to his receivers and the linemen who protected and gave him time to throw the ball … so it is with me. I am only one person. But, collectively, we … are a dynamic capable team as is evident by this award.” Mr. Stubblefield also serves as Deputy Administrative Assistant to the Secretary of the Army and as Executive Director, U.S. Army Resources and Programs Agency. As the Deputy Administrative Assistant, Mr. Stubblefield is the principal advisor to the Administrative Assistant. As the Executive Director for the Resources and Programs Agency, he oversees the management of fiscal and human resources and equal employment advisory services for Heqadquarters, Department of the Army (HQDA) organizations and activities. Before joining ITA in 2005, Mr. Stubblefield was Executive Officer and Senior Military Advisor to the Administrative Assistant to the Secretary of the Army. Mr. Stubblefield has previously earned a Distinguished Service Medal and a German Silver Cross of Honor in 2005, a Legion of Merit in 2003, and a National Defense Service Medal in 1999. He holds an MBA from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville, a Master of Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College, and an MA in Business Organizational Management from the University of Laverne.
